Santa's Grotto at The Commandery is Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December, 10-minute visits with a present, booking essential. Webbs Breakfast with Santa is £22.
Worcester’s own Santa’s grotto this year is at The Commandery, on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December 2026. Visits are booked in 10-minute slots, Santa sees each family privately in the Victorian Kitchen, and every child booked in gets a present. The nearest bigger alternative is Webbs at Wychbold, which runs a Breakfast with Santa on six weekend mornings from 28 November at £22 a head.

The Commandery: 12 and 13 December
Museums Worcestershire announced on 1 October that Santa is coming to The Commandery for one weekend only (Museums Worcestershire, 1 October 2026). From its event page:
- The grotto: Santa and his Head Elf in the Victorian Kitchen. Each booking gets 10 minutes with him and a present for each child. Up to six children can share one slot; bigger groups book two slots in a row.
- Booking is essential for grotto visits, through the museum’s ticket link.
- Arrive from 10am, in good time for your slot. The Commandery’s Sunday hours are 10am to 3pm, and it opens 10am to 4pm on Saturdays.
- Mother Christmas stories under the tree in the Great Hall at 12 noon and 1.30pm on both days.
- An elf trail and crafts. Elves have left little doors around the building, and children can make an elf to take home. The museum says the trail and crafts are free that weekend.
- Refreshments in the Great Hall, from mulled wine and mince pies to hot chocolate. The calendar listing asks you to bring cash for these.
General admission applies to everyone on top of the grotto ticket. It is free for under-5s and for anyone with a Commandery Residents’ pass, season ticket or membership, but the grotto ticket still has to be bought. You can come for the trail and stories without seeing Santa. (Museums Worcestershire, Christmas at The Commandery)
The grotto price is not printed on the museum’s own page. Tickets are sold through TicketSource, which blocks automated requests, so we have not quoted one.
Webbs at Wychbold: Breakfast with Santa
Webbs garden centre on Worcester Road, Wychbold, about eight miles north of the city near Droitwich, runs a sit-down Breakfast with Santa in its festive marquee:
- Dates: Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December.
- Time: 9.30am to 11.30am.
- Price: £22 per adult and £22 per child.
- Children get a breakfast and an activity pack; adults get a full English with tea or coffee, a glass of fizz and pastries. Santa and his elves visit each table, then every child has their own moment with him by the fire and leaves with a gift.
Webbs’ events page lists no walk-through grotto at Wychbold this year. Its Enchanted Gardens light trail, which opens on 20 November, has a stop at Santa’s workshop and house for photographs until 28 December, but that is part of the trail ticket. Our Webbs Enchanted Gardens page has the prices.
Further afield: the West Hagley grotto
Webbs’ traditional walk-through grotto is at its West Hagley store near Stourbridge, about 20 miles north. It runs from Saturday 28 November to Thursday 24 December on set days, outdoors in the plant area. Children post a letter to Santa and mix reindeer food before choosing a toy.
| Ticket | Price |
|---|---|
| Child (includes gift) | £15 |
| Babe in arms, under 12 months | £9 |
| Adult or teen 13+ (no present) | £5 |
Everyone needs a ticket, booked in advance, with up to four adults per booking. (Webbs, The Christmas Grotto at West Hagley)
What else is on in December
The Victorian Christmas Fayre fills the city centre from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 December: see our Victorian Christmas Fayre page, and our Christmas lights page for why the tree lights now go on at the Fayre. The Swan’s pantomime, Robin Hood, opens on 28 November (Worcester pantomime), and the Cathedral’s Christmas Tree Festival is on our Worcester Cathedral at Christmas page.
Getting there
The Commandery is on Sidbury, just south of the Cathedral, and a short walk from the city centre car parks: our parking in Worcester page has every council car park and tariff. Webbs has free parking on site. The weekend of 12 and 13 December is busy in town, so check roadworks and travel before you set off.
